Mosier Ridge House

Mosier, Oregon

Designed as a retirement home for a couple, the house is a single story perched up high above the scenic Columbia River Gorge. The building was oriented to capture the stunning views. Mosier is located in a fairly arid and sunny microclimate just east of the Cascade mountain range. The goal in a climate like this was to maximize cross-ventilation and daylight through the use of retractable glass walls and interior facing operable dormer windows.
